HOME INSULATION CONTRACTOR
GreenPro Direct is a preferred home attic insulation contractor serving Los Angeles and surrounding communities as part of our energy efficient home improvement services. A properly insulated home saves you money on energy bills by helping to keep your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, as it reduces the energy consumption of your A/C and heating units.
Installing new attic insulation is the best way to prevent heated or AC-cooled air loss. A house loses most of its heat or AC-cooled air through openings in your ceiling, skylights, attic, and roof. Most likely your attic already has insulation installed. However, the insulation may be old, compressed, and inefficient. There is also a possibility that there are damaged air ducts and vent screens which allow for a rodent infestation. Rodents in your attic can become a very expensive problem for you and your family. Aside from the health risks, rodents can damage your pipes, wires, wood, and more. This can lead to accidental fires due to exposed wiring or increased energy consumption from air leaks in and out of your attic
WHOLE HOUSE INSULATION SERVICES
Heating and air conditioning leaks originate through sometimes invisible gaps around windows, ceiling, attic, walls, floor boards, and leaky ducts, and even doors. Your hard-earned money just flowing away. Proper insulation techniques and materials can prevent heat loss or heat gain. According to the Department of Energy, An insulating material's resistance to conductive heat flow is measured or rated in terms of its thermal resistance or R-value -- the higher the R-value, the greater the insulating effectiveness. The R-value depends on the type of insulation, its thickness, and its density.
Adding high R-value (greater than R30) insulation materials will definitely save you energy and money at home. Insulation can also act as a sound barrier while repelling moisture from entering the home. Excessive moisture can cause deterioration and mold in your home.
Insulation comes in a variety of types and colors. These include blanket rolled or batt (fiberglass, mineral wool, plastic fiber, sheep wool), blown-in (fiberglass, cellulose, mineral wool), and foam board (placed on inside of walls). In conclusion, adding reflective sheets (foil faced kraft paper, plastic) to reflect heat and AC cooled air back into the home, will also increase the R value.
